C. Giuseppe Taglia, born 18 October 1866 in Ricigliano. It is not known what happened to Guiseppe. He arrived in New York in 1884 with his mother and two siblings, and family lore suggests that he might have eventually settled in Argentina. No confirmation has been found for that. He does not appear in any Chicago city directories or census records. One mention has been found for a Giuseppe Taglia, who is possibly the right man. Giuseppe Taglia, a sailor, arrived in New York on the ship Patria, 27 October 1896. His residence was reported as “Riciglian,” and he was age 26 (which does not exactly match his known age, but is close). The ship sailed from Naples. Working as a sailor would fit the scenario that he may have settled in Argentina. In the 1940s, his nephew, Dr. Vito A. D. Talgia, went to South America in hopes of locating him. He was unsuccessful.
Searches of current databases such as Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org have not turned up any new clues.
